Being vegan is a very important choice that some people make, and that is something that should be respected, although her friends thought it would be funny to prank her after a drunken night out. She has reported them to the police.
The woman is 24 years old and has been a vegan for about the last ten years, she has not eaten meat since she discovered where it came from, yep that’s right since she was a little girl of three years old
The woman commented on Reddit that her belief in veganism is not a secret and the people in her life and around her know and respect that, well so she thought anyway…
She went to a party with some of her friends, and she openly admits that she got wasted, she said;
… that she got “white girl wasted”
While she was at this party, her so-called ‘friends’ decided to prank her and get her to eat the chicken nuggets, they thought it would be really funny.
“I checked with them before chowing down ‘are these vegan?’ to which my friends replied ‘yeah, they’re sunfed’ (a type of vegan chicken-less chicken),”
She went on to say:
“They tasted off to me but I figured it was just because I was drunk. I was wrong.”
The next day arrived she started to wonder what was going on because she got a message from her sister, telling her to check her friend’s Snapchat story.
The story showed a chicken nugget pack, with her ‘friends’ then feeding them to her, it also included the conversation where she asked to see that they were, in fact, meat-free, vegan food, and, of course, chicken-less chicken.
There was another video that showed them mocking her, but pretending to be her, as she found out that she had unknowingly eaten some chicken, they were playing crying and shouting out load:
“the chickens [the poor chickens]”
The girl was not happy at all, it must have felt like a real betrayal, she said:
“I took a screen recording of the video and took it to the police on the grounds of food tampering and now 3 of my (ex) friends are facing charges.”
“They all think that I’m overreacting to a ‘harmless’ prank. In my view, they took advantage of my drunken state, tampered with my food and publicly humiliated me. In their view, it was just a prank.”
She is asking people to give their opinion about who is right, she says:
“Am I the A**hole?”
But, the overwhelming mass of people who commented say that she was in the right to take action against her so-called ‘friends’ and to be honest, we think so too!
One commenter said:
“I’m impressed and kind of think this is awesome. I think that it’s awesome you went to the police and they’re taking it seriously.”
Someone else said:
“You’re all forgetting that they uploaded a Snapchat video making fun of her too, it wasn’t just food tampering.”
Even though she had all this support, there were some that thought she had gone too far going to the Police.
Her story seems to have divided people in their opinion, what do you think? Tell us if you agree in the comments below!
Is she right to press charges against her ‘ex-friends’?
