We at Venus Valley love all animals, they are God’s gift to the environment, without them the whole ecosystem would break down and what would we have left? So to hear about monkeys strapped to metal harnesses and cats and dogs being bled, dying, there is no denying the footage…
Animal rights claimed to have filmed the awful acts in a German toxicology laboratory…
The activist organization, based out of Germany and called Soko Tierschutz together with Cruelty-Free International tells the story, they allege that the abuse was taking place on the outskirts of Hamburg, at the LPT Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology in Mienenbuttel.
The photos tell the story better than can be expressed by any words, macaques strapped to metal brackets in rows on the wall male us feel sick, how can any human being do this?
Their heads are in restraints they are desperate to escape, innocent and scared, the beagles appear to be in tight cells and bleeding.
They took the footage by using an undercover activist who got a job at the facility, from 2018, December, to March the net year, he says he saw the testing on the beagles with his own eyes, as well as monkeys, cats, and rabbits, apparently for companies all over the world.
The animals were reported by the undercover worker to really be in awful conditions, it certainly was not humane, to say the very least!
The Beagles had pipes pushed into their mouths to facilitate administering capsules, left to suffer at the expense of the experiments forced on them.
The guy also said that the animals were often treated quite roughly, with no respect or dignity, not in the least bit, sometimes ‘violently’, by workers not even trained in animal care.
Friedrich Mullen from Soko Tierschutz said:
“The animals were even still waggling their tails when they were being taken to be killed, the dogs were desperate for human contact”
We are almost lost for words, we know just what we want to say, what would you say to people who do this?
He also said:
“The worst treatment was kept for the monkeys. The macaque’s breed of monkeys are small, relatively light primates, which are often used for animal experiments at LPT.”
“They are kept in cramped conditions in small cages. Many of the animals have developed compulsive tendencies and are seen going round in circles.”
The cats again are another story, seeming even worse, they are given up to thirteen injections by untrained staff, and then left to suffer, we can’t even bear to think about how they cry.
The police are investigating the case based on evidence from the animal’s activists, let’s hope something is actually done, and action is taken, this can’t be allowed to continue!
German laws don’t seem strict enough to protect animals and this is also something that needs to be addressed too, we didn’t know that there was such a problem with German laws, but we hope everyone will spread awareness about this problem.
LPT is a family-owned contract-testing laboratory carrying that carries out toxicity testing for pharmaceutical, industrial and agrochemical companies from companies all over the world in order to meet the requirements of governments and regulatory authorities.
So this sounds all very official, but really it’s just another way to say sanctioned animal abuse that is overlooked, don’t you think?
Cruelty-Free International said:
“Toxicity testing involves poisoning animals to see how much of a chemical or drug it takes to cause serious harm, in an attempt to measure what a “safe” dose for humans might be.”
“Animals are injected with or made to eat or inhale increasing amounts of a substance to measure the toxic effects which can be severe and include vomiting, internal bleeding, respiratory distress, fever, weight loss, lethargy, skin problems, organ failure, and even death. No anesthetics or pain relief are provided.”
Chief Executive of Cruelty-Free International, Michelle Thew, said:
“Our investigation has uncovered appalling animal suffering, inadequate care, poor practices and breaches of European and German law.”
‘We are calling for the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology (LPT) to be closed. We are also calling for a comprehensive review of the use of animals in regulatory toxicity testing in Europe, including the UK.”
“Every investigation, without fail, shows a similar tale of misery and disregard of the law.”
Let’s stand together to stamp out this kind of behavior, together we can help stop it once and for all, by supporting the rights of all animals.
