Craziest Beauty Trends This Year – Women Use Lip Fillers To Create ‘Devil-Pouts’

‘Devil lips’ really have started to become the biggest and very likely one of the craziest beauty trends to seep through to people’s social media feeds this year, frankly, it doesn’t look safe, but is it?

This viral trend, that we think was originally started in Russia, is now getting crazy and trendy on Instagram in the United Kingdom, experts and doctors alike are giving out warnings to avoid the new look!

Dubbed dangerous and unnatural, this cosmetic look is achieved by women getting lip fillers injected and/or with makeup to create wavy pouts on their lips.

The procedure is semi-permanent is thought to be mainly achieved by putting the lip filler into the outer lip, to create the bizarre wave, devil-lips.

A London based doctor called Dr. Krystyna, who deals with Cosmetic Dentistry, and Facial Aesthetics said:

“You cannot change the anatomical shape of the lips like this …You can sharpen and contour by enhancing the vermillion border, but these “devil lips” are unnatural.”

“Filler injected inappropriately could end up in blood vessels, causing blockages and leading to necrosis (death) of the tissue.”

“The vessels are around the lips, so using filler inappropriately is what can cause this.”

However for beauty fans who want to get the effect without the risk, then makeup and photoshop can achieve the same…

This look of ‘devil’ or ‘octopus’ lips faces mixed reactions on social media, not surprisingly though, with comments starting out with ‘hideous’ moving on to ‘I think I like it’…

Dermaspa founder Nilam Holmes, a Beauty guru, voiced herself on Instagram to brand the trend as:

“wrong on all levels'”

She said:

“It looks unnatural and ridiculous. The clue is in the title really… it is unnecessary disfigurement! Whether it is tattooing and/or filler… it looks terrible.”

“I thought it was Photoshop and a joke for Halloween when I first saw it but apparently not.”

Celebrities such as Rochelle Humes have called it out as ‘scary’, but one makeup artist said:

“Try applying for a job with lips like that”

“Please don’t be naive and follow silly trends like this,’ the expert added. ‘You will not be able to reverse it easily and go back to your natural lips if at all.”

“Your lip border will be distorted and it won’t wear off evenly so you will have frilly lips for years to come.”

Well, we would love to know your thoughts on it, so please do comment and tell us what you think, maybe you know someone who has tried it?
